The Land Intensification Allowance (LIA) scheme for the built environment sector, which provides tax allowances to owners of construction facilities such as prefabrication hubs, will be expanded to cover a greater range of developments from Jan 1, 2026.

River Valley fire: SCDF finds safety breaches; URA says only first floor approved for use as children’s enrichment centre
Fire safety breaches were found at the River Valley shophouse that caught fire on Tuesday (Apr 8), said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). “Preliminary findings are that the fire likely originated from an area used for storage on the second storey of the three-storey shophouse,” SCDF said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

Charitable healthcare organisation Sata CommHealth has put on the market a health and medical-care site in Bedok for S$63 million. The organisation, which provides healthcare and medical services to seniors and the vulnerable, is selling a 60-year leasehold interest in its freehold property at 351 Chai Chee Street.
Taiwan’s AUO lowers asking price on Singapore industrial asset to S$380 million
Taiwanese display maker AUO has lowered the asking price of its industrial facility in the Tampines industrial estate to S$380 million. The six-storey facility, on a massive site of 997,330 square feet (sq ft), was first marketed last year at S$400 million after AUO shut down production in Singapore in December 2023. The property has a remaining land tenure of 34 years.
