Patrons,
Past Presidents of REDAS,
Fellow Members,
Ladies and Gentlemen.
Good afternoon and a warm welcome to the 2025 REDAS Spring Festival Celebration. 祝大家蛇年吉祥,万事如意,幸福安康!
Firstly, I would like to thank Minister Desmond Lee for joining us to usher in the Lunar New Year. Minister, it has been over five years since you graced our Spring Festival Celebration in 2018.
With elections rumored to be just around the corner, we look forward to hosting you, perhaps in a new capacity, at future REDAS events.
Celebrating SG60 and Singapore’s Transformation
This year, as we celebrate SG60, it’s a good time to reflect on how far we’ve come as a nation. REDAS has been here since 1959, six years before independence, and it’s been incredible to witness and be part of Singapore’s transformation over the decades. From housing the population to building world-class developments, we’ve grown together, and I think we can all agree that the journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Honouring our Pioneers
We wouldn’t be where we are today without the vision and hard work of the pioneers who came before us. They laid the foundation for Singapore’s modern real estate market, taking bold risks and making tough decisions to shape our urban landscape. From low-rise flats and shophouses back then to iconic projects today, their efforts have given us a strong base to keep building on.
Staying Agile in a Changing World
As we mark 60 years of national transformation, it’s clear that the same spirit of adaptability and innovation that built Singapore’s foundation remains critical today. In a landscape of rising costs, tighter margins, and global uncertainties, we must stay ahead by continuing to innovate, improve productivity, and embrace change.
Digital transformation is one area that presents immense growth opportunities, and REDAS is committed to supporting this charge. This April, we will launch the Digital Future Symposium, themed “Transform Today, Lead Tomorrow.“, to explore new technologies that can reshape and strengthen our industry for the future.
At the same time, I’m also pleased to share that 20 projects have committed to our RAPID platform, which supports BCA’s Built Environment Industry Transformation Map. These steps may seem small, but they show what’s possible when we work together to push boundaries.
Another key initiative is CORENET X, a one-stop digital platform that makes regulatory submissions more integrated and seamless. REDAS is fully behind this and will work closely with BCA and our members to support its adoption. We strongly encourage everyone to start using CORENET X as early as possible, so the industry can transition smoothly and be ready when it becomes mandatory.
Closing Remarks
Before I wrap up, I want to thank Minister Desmond Lee again for joining us, as well as all our members and friends for your support. My sincere thanks also go out to the organizing committee, led by Joseph, Ai Ting and Hock Chang, for their dedication and good work in putting this event together.
REDAS has always been built on the efforts of our pioneers and past Management Committees. With the newly elected team, we will continue to uphold that legacy, driving collaboration, innovation, and excellence in everything we do.
Once again, I wish everyone
在新的一年, 好运连连, 万事如意, 大吉大利, 幸福安康!
