AECOM is a global infrastructure, engineering and consultancy firm that plays a key role in Singapore’s urban landscape. Its recent initiatives are directed towards harnessing technology and developing talent, both critical in ensuring the city’s real estate and built environment continue to grow sustainably.
In September 2025, AECOM launched the Underground Infrastructure AI Innovation Centre in Singapore with support from the Economic Development Board. The Centre is developing AI-powered tools to improve underground utility mapping, automate design workflows, identify critical sections with severe space congestion and propose recommendations to optimize underground space usage. By streamlining underground coordination and approvals, this initiative helps reduce delays and cost risks for property developments in dense urban contexts like Singapore.
AECOM also contributes to local capability building. The Innovation Centre is positioned as a platform for upskilling talent and fostering collaboration across the wider ecosystem, strengthening Singapore’s digital and engineering capabilities for the future.

On the infrastructure front, an AECOM–Binnies joint venture was appointed by PUB in August 2025 to provide engineering services for the Phase 3 expansion of the Changi Water Reclamation Plant. This long-term programme is critical not only for water security but also for Singapore’s ability to reclaim land, support new urban developments and reinforce resilience in the built environment.
By advancing underground coordination, water infrastructure and talent development, AECOM is helping create the conditions that enable Singapore’s real estate sector to grow with confidence and sustainability.
