REDAS REAL ESTATE MARKET OUTLOOK 2026
15 JULY 2026, WEDNESDAY, 9:00AM
GRAND COPTHORNE WATERFRONT HOTEL, GRAND BALLROOM

WELCOME ADDRESS BY
MR TAN SWEE YIOW
PRESIDENT OF REDAS

Mr Roy Chiang, Chairman of e2i Singapore and Chief Executive Officer of CBM Pte Ltd,

Dr Amy Khor, Honorary Advisor of the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers,

Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Good morning and a warm welcome to the REDAS Real Estate Market Outlook Seminar.

A special thank you to Roy for joining us today.

Developing talent is critical to maintaining Singapore’s competitiveness as a global real estate hub.

The industry is currently navigating a real estate talent crunch.

Earlier this year, REDAS partnered the industry to strengthen our talent pipeline through internship exposure and mentorship for students.

Today, we are pleased to share that we are also working with e2i to support workforce transformation across our industry and create new pathways to attract talent into the sector

We encourage members of the industry to explore this with e2i.

About REMO

REDAS has been organising The Real Estate Market Outlook, or REMO, since 1999.

Now in its 27th edition, it remains one of the highlights in our annual calendar.

At its heart, REMO is about learning.

Learning from data. Learning from each other.

Learning from what is happening beyond our shores, and asking ourselves – what does this mean for us, and what can we do better?

Today, the world is more uncertain. The landscape is shifting faster.

And in times like these, we have to remain curious, stay connected, and look for sparks of partnership.

This year, the theme for REMO is “New Horizons for Singapore Real Estate — Global Magnet, Local Home, City of Identity.”

It is a reminder that as our operating conditions shifts, we have to navigate all three fronts.

As a global magnet for capital, creating liveable homes for Singaporeans and sharpening our collective identity.

This year’s programme reflects that.

We have moved towards more topical discussions because the questions our industry is grappling with deserve more than a single lens.

The 2026 Market

Singapore’s real estate market has held steady. The numbers from the first half of 2026 tell a steady story.

Private home prices and office rental rose moderately, moving broadly in line with economic fundamentals.

This reflects steady demand against a well-managed supply pipeline.

The broader economy grew 6.0 per cent year-on-year in Q1.

MTI maintains the full-year forecast at 2.0 to 4.0 per cent, though downside risks have risen significantly

We are in a market finding its footing and finding new horizons.

Partnerships That Build Cities

In May, REDAS joined MND and URA on a work trip to Sydney and Melbourne.

What struck us most was not any single project.

It was the quality of partnership between the public and private sectors that made those outcomes possible.

We saw how both sides worked towards shared goals and stayed committed throughout.

It is also encouraging to see that conversation continues here at home.

Since the trip, MND has announced that Marina Bay could see bolder night light-ups, as URA explores easing guidelines on night lighting.

Singapore will also ease restrictions on hotels, hostels and serviced apartments in heritage precincts at Boat Quay and Beach Road.

These are early but meaningful signals.

They show what is possible when industry partners travel together, learn together, and then act on what they have seen.

That is the partnership REDAS is committed to deepening.

Appreciation and Call to Action

In closing, I would like to thank our Guest of Honour, speakers, panellists, and sponsors for making today possible.

A special thanks to Isaac and our REDAS Seminar Committee for your leadership and hard work in putting today together.

To everyone here, I hope you leave today with more than data points.

Ask questions. Engage the speakers. Reconnect with old partners and make new ones.

Because the connections made in rooms like this are often where the best ideas begin.

Let’s make it a day well spent.

Thank you.
