THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL REDAS SPRING FESTIVAL CELEBRATION
On 27 February, more than 560 industry partners gathered at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel to attend this year’s REDAS Spring Festival Lunch. Graced by our Guest-of-Honour, Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs, the auspicious occasion was a wonderful afternoon of camaraderie, connections & celebration!
A BIG THANK YOU to Minister Edwin Tong and everyone present, members, industry partners, sponsors and well-wishers for taking the time to attend the event, ushering in a season of renewal and growth, embracing change and seizing new opportunities with optimism.
In his welcome address, REDAS President Mr Tan Swee Yiow spoke on the importance of building a robust talent pipeline to ensure the long-term health of real estate & built environment industry. He added, “The Department Consultative Committee comprising partners from government and industry has been exploring how we can respond collectively and REDAS is proud to be part of this effort.” Mr Tan further encouraged organisations to join the Real Estate Talent Programme which REDAS has spearheaded with the National University of Singapore (NUS), together with other industry partners. The programme aims to bring organisations together to provide students with clearer visibility on the opportunities and the diverse range of career paths in real estate.
Speaking at the event (https://www.mlaw.gov.sg/speech-by-minister-edwin-tong-at-redas-spring-festival-lunch/), Minister Mr Edwin Tong commended REDAS on its efforts towards building the talent pipeline and that “this forward-thinking partnership would help to create good jobs for Singaporeans and strengthening our enterprise ecosystem.” To further support industry growth in a new era, Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance regulatory clarity, improve inter-agency coordination and strengthen productivity within the sector. Key initiatives included:
- Refinements to the Land Betterment Charge (LBC) framework and the launch of the LBC Estimator tool on OneMap to help developers estimate charges upfront (on 27 Feb 26)
- Spot valuation brought forward to Provisional Permission stage to shorten timelines.
- Solar installations classified as utilities (from 1 Sep 2025), allowing charges to be computed via table rates for greater certainty.
- Digital Conveyancing Portal (DCP) – Pilot launch of a fully digital, paperless conveyancing system to streamline property transactions.
- New opportunities through State Properties – unique and differentiated offerings and longer lease tenures to support diverse and adaptive reuse projects.
Once again, on behalf of the REDAS Management Committee and the Organising Committee, our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors for their generosity and strong support.
As we look forward to continued collaboration in building a vibrant and sustainable real estate & built environment sector, we wish everyone all the best for 2026 – a year filled with abundant blessings, new milestones and galloping success! 马年大吉万事如意, 马到成功事事顺利, 一马 当先好运连连, 龙马精神活力满满, 四季平安过旺年!
