Celebrating 66 Years As A Fraternity!
REDAS is honoured to celebrate its 66th Anniversary on 13 November 2025 with Guest-of-Honour Mr Chee Hong Tat, Minister for National Development. Themed “Transforming Spaces, Building Futures”, the event brought together some 500 members, friends, and industry partners for a Memorable Evening of Camaraderie, Connections & Celebration … Where Gratitude meets Appreciation, Collaboration meets Success!
2025 was especially meaningful as we celebrated Singapore’s 60th year of independence. The real estate and built environment industry has significantly contributed to the Singapore of today, supporting the nation’s development, shaping the urban landscape, driving social progress and creating jobs.
Reflecting on the Association’s journey since 1959 and how REDAS together with its members, and the wider industry have grown in tandem with Singapore’s development, REDAS President Mr Tan Swee Yiow affirmed the Association’s REDAS’ resolve to continue partnering Government and industry to drive sustainability, innovation, and transformation in the built environment.
Speaking at the dinner, Minister announced new regulatory changes to safeguard private residential home buyers and help them make more informed decisions on their purchases. The new rules which will take effect in 2026 will require developers to give more housing project details, like site plans with structural walls marked, ensuring transparency for buyers. He explained, “This is to provide upfront clarity to home buyers on layout plans, to reduce possible disagreements tween developers and buyers downstream.” Additionally, developers have to provide information to prospective buyers on their track records, including the Construction Quality Assessment System (Conquas) banding of their past projects. Under the new rules, the defect liability and maintenance fees will now start on the date of delivery of vacant possession of the property, or the 35th day after the payment notice is issued at the TOP stage, whichever is earlier, giving buyers more time to inspect new homes and notify developers of defects.
Event highlights included launch of new REDAS logo. The refreshed identity features three dialogue boxes, symbolising trust, progress and shared purpose among the Government, Industry and Community. It reflects the Association’s belief that open dialogue and collaboration form the foundation of Singapore’s continued growth and resilience.
The event also witnessed REDAS’ pledge of $60,000 to the President’s Challenge. This contribution reflects the Association’s long-standing commitment to social responsibility and community care.
Additionally, a Special Edition was published in conjunction with SG60, featuring voices from across the industry — including REDAS Patrons, Past Presidents, and Appreciation Award Recipients. This e-book is a celebration of a legacy of vision and resilience. It brings together business leaders — REDAS Patrons, REDAS Past Presidents, and REDAS Appreciation Award Recipients — whose lifelong commitment and entrepreneurial courage have left an indelible mark on the nation. They embody the REDAS spirit of resilience, foresight, integrity, and collaboration and many have more than 40 cumulative years of membership with REDAS.
Through their thoughts, we are reminded that the success of Singapore’s real estate sector did not come by chance — it was earned through hard work, discipline, and partnership. Their steadfast belief in the long view — investing through cycles, innovating amid constraints, and holding fast to purpose — has shaped neighbourhoods, created new benchmarks of quality, and uplifted communities across generations. Their legacy continues to shape Singapore’s skyline — and its spirit — for generations to come –
