WORKSHOP OVERVIEW    

The course will discuss the various types of building contracts available in the building industry today and examine which is the most suitable for the particular building project. The key elements of the building contract such as the liquidated damages clause on late completion, the dispute resolution clause, the provision of the Performance Bond and Warranties and the effect of the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act in the negotiations between the parties will also be examined. The course will also look at the more controversial provisions in the Standard Design Consultancy Agreements.
