New workplace safety guidelines to help employers better prepare for stormy, hazy and hot weather
Employers now have guidelines on how to manage workplace safety during strong winds, heavy rain, lightning, heatwaves and haze. These new guidelines, to help workplaces prepare for adverse weather, were released by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council on Friday (Apr 4).
Singapore retail sales fare worse than expected, down 3.6% in February from earlier Chinese New Year
The Republic’s retail sales fell 3.6 per cent year on year in February, reversing the revised 4.7 per cent growth posted the month before, data from the Department of Statistics (SingStat) showed on Friday (Apr 4). SingStat attributed the decline to Chinese New Year being celebrated in January this year, as opposed to February last year.

A shipping entrepreneur in his 40s is buying a bungalow in the Leedon Park Good Class Bungalow (GCB) Area for S$45.8 million or S$2,929 per square foot (psf) based on the freehold land area of 15,636 square feet (sq ft). Standing on the site is a 14-year-old bungalow with two storeys and a basement.
Making the leap from HDB to private condo
From 2021 to 2024, resale prices of public housing flats on the whole rose faster than prices of non-landed private residential prices, suggesting that bridging the gap and making the leap from public to private housing should become increasingly within reach.
