20 October 2026 – REDAS held its networking mixer, “Connections & Perspectives”, at Maybank Tower, bringing together real estate industry leaders and professionals for an afternoon of discussions, knowledge sharing and networking.
Welcome Remarks
Mr Chong Wee Yeat, Head of Global Banking, Maybank Singapore, opened the event with welcome remarks.
ASEAN Economic Outlook
Dr Chua Hak Bin, Regional Co-Head, Macro, Maybank Investment Banking Group, gave a detailed outlook on how the world economy and geopolitics will affect ASEAN. He also touched on the impact on retail, the cost of goods and everyday living.
AI’s Implications on Real Estate
Mr Cheo Wei Ming, Director of Technology, Savills Singapore, shared that AI is moving beyond software into the physical world, creating new demand for data centres and power-ready sites. He noted that location alone may no longer be enough, as occupiers will also look for connectivity, talent and strong building performance. His advice to developers was to prepare for adaptability, designing in early for new developments and retrofitting existing buildings selectively.
Following the presentations, attendees networked and exchanged perspectives with fellow industry professionals in a relaxed and informal setting.
